More of a quality over quantity tipster, Colesie tends to stick to tipping between 1-3 selections per day and has a passion for national hunt racing. He has selected numerous winners over the sticks in his trial, but he can also put pen to paper and produce equally impressive results on the Flat.
His most recent big priced winners include Get It in the Wokingham Stakes, his only NAP of the week along with American Affair in the King Charles III Stakes! All results within his trial can be found on the website architecttips.co.uk via the results page.
His work ethic, attitude, strong minded and well grounded approach is second to none and you will struggle to find a more positive tipster, even when things get tough! An excellent addition to the architect tips team.
During the impressive trial, Colesie collated winners at 28/1 x2, 14/1, 15/2, 13/2, 8/1, 16/1 and many more with plenty in store for members going forward. While Colesie has put up many great results at festivals, don’t be surprised to see him shy away and look outside the box to identify better value by popping up a winner somewhere like Cartmel or Uttoxeter!
We only want tipsters who show all of the ingredients and signs we require during the trial period and this man has the biggest will to succeed, as proven within his results to date. With hundreds of customers who trust architecttips.co.uk, I have no doubt you will not be disappointed.
Hi, my name is Steve—though most of my friends call me Colesie.
“My passion for horse racing began in my teenage years, sparked by watching my Dad spread the racing pages across the living room table and study the form. One day, he took the time to explain how to read a race card and introduced me to the concept of a Placepot. He offered to place a £1 bet on my selections for the day, challenging me to pick a horse to place in each of the first six races.
It was a Saturday—though I can’t remember which meeting it was, as it was quite a while ago! I studied the form that morning as best I could with the little knowledge I had just picked up and made my selections. I followed the results on Teletext (yes, I’m that old): winner, second, second, winner, third… and then heartbreak—fourth in the final race. I missed out on a Placepot win by just one position. I’ll never forget the name of that horse: Zeta’s Lad.
Even though it didn’t land, I was hooked. From that point on, I immersed myself in studying form and developing systems to try to beat the bookies—many of which I still use to this day. Over the next 20 years, these techniques have consistently helped me identify value and find winners.
I live in Wiltshire, not far from Lambourn, and I’ve had the chance to visit a few local yards, including the Kubler’s. My local racecourse is Cheltenham, where I often go with family or friends on race days. I’ve also been to several other tracks including Newbury, Warwick, Windsor, and Bath.
I naturally lean towards National Hunt racing—chases and hurdle races in particular—as I feel more confident analysing that form. When I place a bet, I approach it as if it’s my last £10. I ask myself: What bet do I feel truly confident in? After all, no one wants to lose money.
Alongside my form study and systems, I watch extensive race replays daily. I pay close attention to horses who may have been unlucky, failed to settle, or were affected by factors outside their control.
I look at weight changes, jockey bookings, trainer and jockey strike rates at each course, past course-and-distance performances, the going, class changes and much more. There’s a lot that goes into every tip—I’m always looking for that edge over the bookie.
I back all of my own selections with my own money. Unfortunately, I’ve been restricted or banned by several bookmakers over the years—clearly, they only appreciate consistent losers!
Once I realised I could turn a regular profit using these systems, I stuck with them—and now I’ve reached a point where I want to share my insights with others. There are a lot of tipsters out there who simply push out even-money favourites. I believe I can do better—and I’ve already shown I can deliver consistent profit over time.
There’s no better feeling than watching a horse bolt up after you’ve done the hard graft. It makes all the hours of study worth it. I’m incredibly passionate about racing, and I hate getting it wrong. I’m a sore loser—but that just drives me to work even harder.
So when you follow one of my tips, you can be sure it’s not guesswork. Every selection is the result of hours of detailed analysis and genuine conviction. I’ll always do my very best to deliver value and, ultimately, winners.!
“American Affair” has won 3 times over 5f, winning at Doncaster, Musselburgh and York. He ran into a bit of trouble last time out at Haydock finishing 5th in the end, but he wasn’t disgraced as he had excuses that day. So at 14/1 he’s good value to at least place.
“Land Girls Luck” was travelling well at Stratford last time out before the saddle slipped and had to be pulled up. Jack Wilmot is back in the saddle and barring no issues with the saddle this time I think this mare should go well again.
“Get It” won on the 9th May at Ascot over 6f, making all with Pat Cosgrove on his back. Get It showed great speed that day. He has Seamie Heffernan on his back this time, and if he can break quickly again like he did at Ascot last time out he might be able to hold on again. Great value at 28/1.
